I would say she should be OK with any Cabriolet after 82. Really early ones might have the same wierd and poorly designed wiring setup as my '81 Jetta. Besides this they should be as reliable as any other fuel injected Jetta/Golf which is very. Should make for lots of fun and low maintenance driving. Now the trick is finding one with decently low miles under $3000. Early '80s is your best bet as these tend to be pricey and hold thier value very well. Ken Wilford Van-Again John 3:16
