Subject: 93 EV Fuel Line Problem Survey
Comments: To: ev_update@maller.com
Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

As many of you know, my EV had an engine fire last weekend. I've since had a close look at the engine compartment, and it would seem that the majority of damage is in the area where the fuel lines come together just above the distributor.

I went to the NHTSA website and found three defect complaints on the 93 EVs which relate to fuel leaks, one of which caused a fire. If in fact fuel leaks are a common occurance in 93 EVs, I'd like to take VW to task.

My question to the group is, how many of you have had fuel leak problems with your 93 EVs? Have any of you had an engine fire related to a fuel leak?

Please let me know.

Thanks.

Ric
