Good point! The late Gary Domestico believed that his engine threw a rod at Transporters by the Tunnel '98 because of this very reason. He had had the engine rebuilt locally and the rebuilder has reused the rod stretch bolts despite Gary's protests. 20K down the road, a rod poked a new vent hole in the engine.
