The carb on this one is a Pierburg 2E3 or 2E4, the 4 is for cars with power steering, air conditioning or auto tranny, and is equipped with an idle compensator. This carb is covered in the Haynes manual, and there are even "exploded" drawings of it there. Parts for this carb should be obtainable from VW, but since this carbed version was never offered in the USA, it can be difficult to talk VW into getting them. A company like Pierburg could also be represented in the USA. I also had a look in the Just Kampers catalogue, and while any rebuild kit weren't listed in the catalogue, maybe they can help?
