I have an '88 Westy that the PO installed an interstate battery - but did not remove the markers so I could tell when it was replaced. It seems to work fine - except it does not seem to have very much reserve, eg. if you let the van sit for two days and listen to the radio while working on the van. After two days the voltage was down to 8V. But this could just be that the battery is old.

Todd '88 Westy
