I forgot to mention that the pistons were braced by two small pieces of wood wedged between piston and housing during pin removal. This is something even VW does not do. (Note: the supporting wood scraps are not included in my cost calculation :) ) Anyone is free to buy the appropriate VW tool which will cost ya $$ ... :(
