I was reading Tom Carrington's excellent web page on the common 3-4 tranny problem and was wondering if the same is true for the Syncro's and if the parts are the same.

I'm replacing the engine in my bus and while the engine was out I was thinking of having a local shop replace some of the high-wear items in the tranny thinking this would be cheaper than having the tranny rebuilt once it broke.

The tranny has about 180000 miles on it so some work is likely due as this is way over the average life-expectancy.

Thanks for any info, ...Markus
