...I should add that my Interstate batteries have been abused out of necessity. At 10,000 feet+ in the winter my Vanagon FI shows a flaw--it has a brief chance to start before it floods. I used to "drive" the Vanagon on the starter to where a downhill slope started if I couldnt' get someone to tow/push. (The same thing happened with my '76 with FI.)

I finally figured out the problem and wired a switch to the front that can turn off the fuel pump. That sure dries out the cylinders in a hurry. And it is a great anti-theft device. ;-)

Anyway, I don't want to remember the number of times I lurched a few hundred feet on the starter--and the Interstate Battery!!
