I believe to use a regular passenger tire like yours with max. load range
of 1554 lbs at max. pressure of 35 psi on Vanagon is simply dangerous.
It's been discussed many times before on the list.  Do use a reinforced
tire with load range around 1700 lbs and max. pressure of 50 psi.
Michelin MXT (205/70-14 99T Reinforced, some people on the list recently
said they got their MXT's for $75 each at Discount Tires!) is always my top
choice!
