Having been there, done that, here are a few more thoughts:

It doesn't work in below-freezing temperatures.


Lube everything under the van and everything else that moves, sliding door,
etc.


You don't have to remove the battery if you go out and start the van every
three weeks or so.  I did this last winter religiously while my van was in
storage...start it up and let it run for 20-25 minutes.  Lubes everything up
real good while its running!  The PO followed this procedure for about seven
years...and I still have the same battery!
