Michael--your transmission is an 82 diesel type 091. Thats all you need to know for most things. The other numbers are probably casting numbers on various housings and mean nothing unless you are replacing one of them.It has (if stock) a 5.43 ring/pinion. Just cause the Bently says or shows a picture...doesn't mean it's true..... As for changing gear oil, My own method is to run the rig till the fluid is warm then drain. Seems to get more out that way cause you can never get the last pint out unless you dissassemble it. I fill till its even with the bottom of the fill hole assuming the van is level. The EV's and some earlier Jettas are different though, so ck the book. Daryl of AA Transaxle |
