Hi , To all those Ladies who hold to the premise that "Necessity is the Mother of Invention" the following fix should show you that Dad's........ "Just do it" ! ===== Halfway through a right hand turn the gas pedal descended to the floor...A break in the traffic and I pushed the 89' Transporter across to a service lane and contemplated calling a friend or the service club. I surmised that the accelerator cable had broken. Being a resourceful person.. ( Lot's of useful junk in the tool box) I solved the problem by removing the engine cover ..twisting several wire coat hangers together and attaching one end to the throttle and the other beside the drivers seat......An automatic would be nice but ....Be assured your gear change, hand throttle co-ordination gets better the further you drive!!!
