heres your answers... << Full camper = sink, stove, fridge, etc in a westfalia. the std. camper doesnt have the stove, and there is a icebox instead of the fridge. Multivan = these were only made '90-'91. basically, a vanagon Carat with a cabinet in the left rear and the poptop. no sink, stove, or fridge. Weekender = most commonly misused of the nomenclatures. the official name "weekender package" was offered on the '85 up (and the '84 wolfys) Vanagon GL and consisted of the split folding middle seat, and the rear sofabed w/ cushion over engine. the "westy weekender" is a unofficial nickname for the '85-'87 non-GL Campers, which had somewhat similar layouts to the '90-'91 Multivan, but the "westy weekenders" had a fixed jumpseat (not the carat style) behing the drivers seat, and did come with a removeable floor mount ac/dc fridge that would fasten to the floor just inside of the sliding door. these fridges hardly ever get resold with the campers, and usually spend the rest of their lives in the PO's garage keeping the beer cold. :<) also the wolfsburg westy weekenders "www" had the shreddy tan cord. upholstry. >> chris |
