I've been trying to locate info on ultrasonic rear parking assist systems that can be retrofitted to an older car, i.e. my Vanagon. BMW calls theirs the Park Distance Control, GM calls theirs the Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist, Ford and MB also have similar systems. Does anyone know of any after market systems that are available? For those who are not familiar with this it is basically an group of ultrasonic transmitter/recievers mounted in that rear bumper (those small black circles you see on the bumpers on the new S Class and 7 series, among others) that indicate through sound or visual display when you're going to back into something. dave www.251.org |
