No, not really. I am serious to the very end :-) What engine you can fit in the Vanagon is more a matter of what your wallet can afford of money, than what the Vanagon can afford of space. If it doesn't fit, we'll make it fit. Many times it is easier/cheaper to let the engine bay limit the size of the engine, than letting the engine alter the size of the engine bay.
