Greetings.

Thanks all for the response on the rear shocks. I am going to soak the bolts overnite and install them tomorrow. I am putting in OEM shocks which I purchased from former list member Harry Yates. They had never been installed and the price was too good to refuse. After verifying the parts # at my local VW, the dealer told me he had a single front in stock and was doing year end inventory. Great price, and ordered and second one at almost as good a price. While Bilstiens would be nice to have, ordered thru the list purchase, 1200.00 Cdn. is a bit steep for me, especially since I just finished an engine conversion. Has anyone installed front syncro shocks without a spring compressor ? I looked at Tom Carrington's technical page where he details a front shock install for a 2wd van. Seems straight forward, but is it ? TIA.
