    Im the guy who ask about the flushing. I got several answers, all of
which were along the lines of "Flushing wont do any harm but you dont really
need to."
    Mainstream opinion seems to be: Drive it around for a while to warm
things up, then drain. With a level van this will leave about a half quart
of the "old stuff" still in there  but since Readline is compatable with the
old stuff it will do no harm.
    As far as things to flush with the only two guys mentioned anything
specific. One  said to flush it with more Redline before sealing the drain
hole and topping off. He also added that this would cost more than any
benefit was worth so forget flushing.
    The other guy said any benefit of getting all the old stuff out of there
with a commercial "flusher" may be offset by the gears running without any
lube at all during the time it took for the Redline to work its way into the
flushed out nooks and cranies that, being flushed, are bone dry until the
Redline gets there. He added that he had no idea how long this would take or
even if this was a factor but since the idea occured to him he passed it
along.

I picked up 4 quarts of Redline MT90 today with the intention of
changing gear oil tomorrow.  I believe that someone asked
recently whether it was advisable or beneficial to attempt to
flush the old oil from the transmission using some type of
solvent.  If there was an answer to this question, I missed it.
Any thoughts or experience with this?
