Subject: Low power 60 sec after start - a trannie issue?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hi Volks:

Manny of you may remember my problems with extremely low power, starting about sixty seconds after starting, ending some ten min later - and never occurring when the engine was full lot.

Today, it occurred to me that perhaps the AT is not downshifting into 1st, when car is cool.

That would explain why I have lots of power on start, but why so often my first pull away AFTER being at speed is so sluggish. (I start off in 1st gear, and move up the gears, but perhaps the trannie doesn't shift back down again.)

Unfortunately, the darn thing didn't do it today, so I couldn't manually test it by moving into first manually.

2 questions: If my diagnosis is correct - what can I do to further pin down the problem with the trannie?

Is this a common thing for AT's?

Thanks in Advance
