I am glad you got your van running. I would be very leary of running it on long trips right now however. Why? All of those coolant hoses were sitting for 5 years and they aren't going to be too happy about alot of pressure being held by them for long periods of time. In other words, I wouldn't be surprised if you blow a hose in the not too distant future.

Here is what I would do: Best case- Replace all the hoses (very expensive and something I couldn't afford to do but you may be Bill Gates for all I know). Worst case- Bring along some extra hose clamps, hose splicers, a sharp knife, a few pieces of generic hose, and some extra coolant so you don't get stuck.

Now if you don't perpare for this potential problem, I am sure you will blow a hose, but if you do carry the extra stuff you will probably never break down or have problems of any kind (that is the way it works for me).
