Hi Dom,

Regarding the #3 timing check/adjustment procedure, do the following:

1) Warm the engine to >80*C oil temperature (full hot).

2) At idle speed (~800 RPM), align the timing mark on the pulley with the split in the crankcase. Rotate the distributor as needed.

3) Tighten the distributor base locking mechanism.

As for engine bay power, connect your timing light to the B+ on the back of the alternator but be careful, this is unfused B+ power !
