Hi all....

Just a quick update on my fire "experience"....

The insurance adjuster just called and gave me the word that the estimate of damages is $2,300, and that there is a possibility the damages could go higher if other damages are uncovered as the EV is being repaired.

Right now I have to toss in $500 for the deductable. At minimum, I will be asking VW to take care of my deductable.

Now for the interesting part. The insurance adjuster agrees that the fire was caused by a fuel leak in the area above the distributor. This is the area where the fuel lines are held together with crimp fittings, and the area where others (on the list as well as on the NHTSA/DOT website) have complained of fuel leaks.

That's it for now.

Ric
