One think to note about pure synthetics: The added high (and low) temperature protection they offer, in terms of flow at extreme cold temps, and stability at extreme high temps. Also, they have a tendency to keep the innards of your engine spotlessly clean! Mobil 1 and Delvac 1 have always been my lubricant of choice in my vans, as they see extremes in both in my many travels. Nice to know my oil won't let me down.
