Hi Eric

The block has both VW & Audi markings. The 2.0L block changed in 93, 16.5mm taller, longer connecting rods. Mine is code 3A, 93 and up is an ABA. The head and intake manifold are different than a VW, but you can put a 1.8 GTI head and manifold on my 2.0L block. Alot of parts are interchangeable. The Eurospec for example using the VW manifold has the throttle body at the back end. My throttle body faces the front. You should contact David Marshall at FastForward, he can tell you alot more of what you can and cannot do with the engines. You can find his site at:
