Yes, a grizzly ripped into the Westy top and ate my 9 year old son. <G> This reminds me of a 3 week wilderness trip that we took alone to the NW and Canada. He was so scared of bears that he would not go pee at night.

One morning I awoke to muffled yells for help. He had somehow turned around in his mummy style sleeping bag during the night. His head was in the foot of the bag, and he could not get out. The claustrophobia was getting to him. He is 22 years old now and in the Army. Thanks for bringing back that trip's memories.

Bill

I know its not a good idea to sleep in a tent with food. Is there any issue with respect to bears as far as having food in a Westy? Has anyone heard of a problem related to this?
