FWIW, I got the following statement from a query about Redline gear oil from
one of their reps:


"In your VW Vanagon, I would recommend Red Line MT-90 in the transmission."


I haven't tried it yet, but given my cruncy 2nd, I might give it a whirl after
the break-in.
