Hello all, I'm new to the list. I have owned varios buses since I could drive, But have just accuired my first Vanagon. So far I love it! A few weeks after we purchased it we went on a road trip. I was unaware at the time but the path I we took had about 12 individual passses all over 2700 feet in elevation. The bus did fine until near our final destination (George, Washington). I blew a plug out of #2. Lame!! The shop that did the engine rebuild (before I purchased it) did some shotty work. I had to have it towed to the nearest town to check for damage. Luckily the threads were fine. The plug just wasn't put in properly!! The experience slowed us down by about six hours and made us a little late to the Phish show, but it did make me stronger.
Oh Yeah... Anyone interested in a 73 westy, it is a real straight poptop with a 1700cc. It was the wife's and it started running a little funny, so we parked it were it has sat for about six months. I just need to get rid of it. Respond if you are interested. It is in the Vancouver Washington area.
