I took a small amount of water w/dawn dishsoap (just enough to swish around and get the entire surface of the lens. I then dumped as much of the water out as I could and let the lenses dry in the sun for a few hours. When I put them back in the van I tested the headlights and noticed a small amout of condensation on the inside of the lens. To fix this I took out the bulb and set my 500 watt halogen worklight (aka heatlamp!) right in front of the outside of the lens and left it there for 1/2 an hour. The heat from the lamp got rid of the remaining moisture. This got rid of the condensation and my lights have been fine since (this was done about a month and a half ago). The most important thing from what I've been told is to make sure that there is no moisture whatsoever in the headlamp housing. Sean Birkner, '90 V'gon (as yet unnamed) |
