Depending on the sensitivity of the device it connects, you could just splice the core and the shield(pull all the shield to one side of the wire) separately, and wrap w/ heat shrink or electrical tape. However, if the device is very sensitive, you could try using a BNC or cable TV shielded connector to terminate each wire and then connect them. you will maintain your EMI protection. Whatever you choose, definitely solder your connections. Good luck!
