no offense - but that's exactly the stuff i WOULDNT use.. you dont want to cake up some thick tar undercoating spread on with a putty knife......you WANT it to be thin. the thicker and heavier it is, the more of the chance it will sag - and seperate from the underlaying metal, and leave pockets for moisture, dirt. here's a case history... my dad has a '80 dodge van. a long time ago, (around '86 when i was in high school) i thought it would be a "really good idea" to smear roofing tar, and spray on foaming crack filler around all the seams, and sheetmetal on the inner rockers, and inside the rear wheelwells, under the van, to "protect it against the salt" now the van is full of holes. more so, than if i had just left it alone. all that roofing tar crap is smeared on there, held water, salt, and dirt behind it, and rotted it out from behind. all it takes is one little pinhole - to start to let water behind that caked on tar and it will start to seperate from the body.. A year ago, i got under there, and pulled off some of the BIG HUNKS of roofing tar that i put on there 10 yrs ago, and they just fell right off, in my hands - i didnt even have to scrape it off - loaded with dirt, and rust holes behind them.

roofing cement is for roofs... BTDT, and was really sorry...
