Subject:      Tachometer/fuel gauge into my '82

Hi Folks,
I was at the wrecker yesterday looking for a tach to retro into my 82.
Of all the dead buses I found one tach.  It was not any good.  It may
have been from a non-Van.  (ie Sirroco)  Does anyone know about using
the sirocco or jetta or rabbit tachs and also about the circuitry from
those?  The speedo in the one I did find was numbered 1545.  I think it
was not a van.  The guy there said $25 for a tach.  I shall try to
acquire the good one from the sirroco and see what happens.

PS: it appeared that a listmember had been out there snagging all of the
tailight sockets.  Who was that masked listee?
