Syncro - has rear locking diff (but not the front)

   both sides (he wasn't too clear about what
               else was done while they were in there)

Says he's the original owner.  Bought it here at the dealer's.  Says he's
owned VW vans since 1957.  Says it's been serviced at the dealers.  Says
it's in excellent condition (I haven't seen it).  Mentioned "one small rust
spot -- so small you could cover it with your finger-nail".  The rear hatch
lift struts are shot.  One radio speaker is out, he thinks it's a loose
wire.  He's buying a 5th wheel trailer-type camper (that's why it's for
sale).

Ron,

The van is maroon. The body is in excellant shape. The only rust spot,
less than an inch square, is on a seam midway up the body by the driver
side door. I am the original owner and the van has never been in an
accident. All the camping gear works and is in good shape. The
air-conditioner may need a recharge..it never gets used up here.

As far as non-routine repairs, the head gasket was replaced this past
spring and the rear CV joints were repacked.

I am currently selling the van for $22,900, but would look at other
reasonable offers.
