in my 90 the speedo cable goes through the center of the front driver's side
"stub axle". It's in a different chamber altogether from the bearings. (I am
currelty replacing my front disks so I have a great view of the stub axle
without the bearings on it. You might want to make sure that the grinding
isn't coming from the brakes.
