I used to work a John's a few years ago. They are probably not going to be
your best source. The focus at John's has always really late model stuff. I
used to deal with quite a few of the other yards in the area maybe they have
what you need.

Foster's U-Pull it always had lots of old VW's
Import Auto salvage always had allot of older cars 285-9864
All Foreign out on T.V. Hwy in Hillsboro always had older Volvo's and VW's
Ken and Pat are great Guys. 649-5691
And there is also Campbell Nelson in Arlington/Edmonds WA. They seemed to
always have Vanagon's and Westy's in the yard.

I've been searching around the Portland, OR area for a salvage yard with a
descent air-cooled Vanagon (pref westy) and a Rabbit conv. or early
Cabriolet to no avail.  I've searched the archives & haven't had much luck
there... Been to John's, called Halsey, German Auto Salvage, & a bunch of
others.  Last time I was in Seattle I went to an excellent yard on W.
Marginal Way... wish I had more time to spend there.  Anyway, if anyone
knows of a descent salvage yard within 100 or so miles from Portland I
would really appreciate the lead.  I'd prefer a 'pick and pull' yard but
I'm not that picky.  With all the VW's around here there's got to be a
goldmine somewhere ;)
