Subject: RUST HOLE
Content-Type: text/plain

Well without a sign it happened! My brother was poking around the right front rocker panel right behind the front jacking anchor and he pushed a quarter and a half size hole in the lower body panel !!!! The acrylic repaint on the out side showed no signs of rust damage??? The guy who did the repaint said he saw no rust there when he did the repaint and you sill can not see any signs of rust from the out side other than the hole. I belive it rusted from the inside out, There were leaves and other various organic matter in the void where the hole was. But we still can't find out where it came from. I think maybe the sliding door or maybe a drain hole that was painted over. I hope there are no more of these in hiding!!! Is this a common rust spot on Vanagon's?? In any event how do we prep, fix, and prevent this from happening again? He has some seam rust and i am thinking of getting all fixed at a body shop in NY.
