I recently bought a new battery for my wife's SAAB 900S (power windows, locks, etc) and found a battery type at New Castle battery (out of PA) designed for heavy duty vehicles such as tow trucks, ambulances and police cars. It's supposed to have more/heavier plates, longer reserve time, and about 900 CCA (great for OH winters). It also has a cool, bright red case!! Anyway if you can find that type, in the group size to fit under your seat you'd be in great shape. I'm sure these type are sold throughout the country, you may have to asked for them specifically. They're probably not popular, and too many times sales people never look at what's available unless it's listed in the application book. Good luck! Dan

BTW...if any one knows where I can get a Vanagon crew cab truck, let me know! -----Original Message----- From: Dominique Cormann <ml@KOZMIK.GUELPH.ON.CA> To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Date: Friday, September 24, 1999 19:08 Subject: Re: [DIESEL] Batteries

Overpriced, under warrentied, and under speced.

There is no reason to use them IMHO. Thats the one battery I'm not considering, simply because where I live its the most expensive, has the lowest Cold cranking amps rating, and has the shortest warrenty!.

Not one reason to consider it that I can think of.
