Subject: Free! Four rusty bolts! (Alloy wheel install)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

I finally got tired of selling the nice 15" alloy rims to everyone and not having a set for myself. So when my tires got, well, tired I decided it was time to get some new rims for myself and some new rubber to go with it.

I got a set of BF Goodrich HR4s (215 65 R15s) for $61 each from the Tire Rack plus $25 shipping and I got them in a couple of days. These tires are a little wider than the 205s that I was running but only 1/2 inch larger in tire diameter. The wheels I kept for myself were the worst of the ones I have been selling (they are factory seconds so they all have small scratches, nicks, etc) but these wheels look really good on my Carat! I mean from 5 feet away you can't see any of the nicks, etc anyway.

The van really likes these tires. I had been running Dunlop car tires (they came with the van and still had lots of tread on them) and after replacing all of my shocks earlier this year with Boges, I really didn't notice much improvement over the rocking boat ride I had been experiencing. Now the ride is much crisper and the boat rock is gone. The max pressure on these is 44 psi and I have them pumped up to that pressure now as that is what the guy at the Tire Rack recommended, however I am thinking that I should be able to decrease the pressure a little and make the ride a little less crisp (which is what I like). Anyone have an idea on what the right pressure would be? (I am guessing around 38 psi).

So if you need 4 rusty bolts to hold your brake drum on (you need to remove these to put on the wheels) then please email me and I'll send them right out to you. If you need a set of 5, 14" alloy Carat/Wolfsburg alloy wheels, I'll let them go for $700 for the set plus shipping (they are in good used condition).
