Ok, so let me join in, too :-) My name is Rainer Michael Woitok ... erm ... please, don't pronounce that as in "rain", but rather as in "Rhine". Rhine, Rhiner, Rhinest ... got the idea? And, please, don't even try to pronounce "Michael" the German way :-) Born '47 and still going strong, six feet minus two inches, 64 kg and thus rather skinny. Full bearded because of too much laziness to shave every morning. Mathmatician by profession, nature conservationist and hunter (not a contradiction) by passion. Working at the university's computing center here in Erlangen, Germany, Europe, Sol III, Milky Way, which is a town (Erlangen, that is, not the milky way :-) with a population of 100.000+ just 20 km north of Nuremberg, this latter town being both, famous and infamous for its history. Living with wife (same age), two sons (15 and 13 years), a dog (Weimaraner, 6 years and well trained) and two cats in a small village about 30 km NNE of Rothenburg, which is another German town famous for its medieval appeal. Commuting from home to work by Syncro (12 km), train (66 km), and bicycle (5 km) and vice versa. The Syncro, a metallic blue '89 Caravelle GL, the second Syncro in our family life, has joined us six years ago (almost together with the dog). The previous owner had the original 2.1l FI engine (111 hp and no cat) equipped with a cat and modified by Oettinger, so it now has 117 hp despite of the cat (not that I ever noticed these additional horses, except at the fuel station :-). It's got all the power-you-name-its except air condition (which isn't at all necessary in Germany). It has cruise control, front and rear diff locks, and it's got those famous 16" rims ... :-). It seats seven (2 (captain's chairs) - 2 - 3), the dog normally occupying the space otherwise used by the third seat in the middle row. And it sleeps four, by way of a roof tent which is only mounted while it's camping season. Nuff said? Hope so :-) Sincerely Rainer '89 Caravelle GL Syncro 16" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- | Rainer M Woitok | Phone: (+49-9131) 85-27811,-27031 | | Regionales Rechenzentrum | | | Friedrich-Alexander-Universitaet | Fax : (+49-9131) 30 29 41 | | Martens-Strasse 1 | Telex: d 629 755 tf erl | | D-91058 Erlangen | | | Germany | Mail: Woitok@RRZE.Uni-Erlangen.DE | ---------------------------------------------------------------------- |
