Subject: Quantum - Suitable Motor for Swap?
Comments: To: Tim McDermott <mcdermot@LI.NET>

Yes Tim, from what I've found, the quantum engine is a good choice, depending on which engine it is. There were several engines used. I'm no expert, but I can think of a 1.9 diesel, 1.9 turbo diesel, and 2.2/2.3 5cyl gas being used. If you want to use the 5cyl, check out this site http://volksweb.relitech.com/helmut/

BTW....if there is anyone else out there who wants to do this swap, I have an '84 quantum w/ the 2.2- 5cyl that would be great donor car. it's complete and running, I just don't need it anymore. It could be used as transport as one preps their van for the swap. (or if some just needs a good car) I could possibly even deliver it. (NE, mid-west US) If anyone is interested, drop me a line. I was going to use it myself for a vanagon swap, but I'm unable to aquire a vanagon($$) at this time.
