Looks and smells like ATF to me.

This stuff has been around forever, and the label proves it.
Private
pilots swear by it, where an engine failure is a bit more
consequential
than for us. It is a thin oil with strong solvent/detergent
properties. I have heard of freeing frozen engines by pouring
it into
the cylinders and nudging a car (or tractor) forward and
backward
occasionally over a period of days until the engine breaks free
(manual
transmissions only!). I have used it as a top oil in the past,
and I
use it during the break-in period after rebuilding an engine.
It is
also favored by many two cycle engine mechanics for outboards,
lawnmowers, etc. It dissolves and suspends deposits so they can
be
drained out when the oil is changed.
Oh, yes, I have also used it to quiet my Vanagon's lifters, and
they are
still going strong after 200,000 miles. I agree that it is too
expensive to use all the time as a preventive however.
