Thnaks for your insightful comments on adjusting the two nuts under the shift lever boot. It did the trick pretty well. As of now, I have yet to receive the infamous Bentley manual. Does carrying one in the vehicle reduce your gas mileage? Anyway, I suspect that there are worn bushings somewhere anyway, but have no comparison of a good shifting stick. Also, there is definitely a leak near that rubber boot going into the transmission(the CV) on both sides. I'm wondering how difficult it is to repair, how to check the transmission oil, and how to fill it if necessary. Also I ordered one of those Berg short shifter kits for the shorter armed of us two and wondering if anyone had any comments on it? Thanks for your help. ANdrew Dunn |
