I was messing around in the engine compartment of my '86 Syncro - Glacie the other day trying to figure out how to cure the problem that I was having i.e. no "oomph" comming away from a stoplight. On a whim I pulled off the rubber connector between the idle stabilizer unit and the intake manifold. This connector also has a tiny tube that plugs into the side. Inside the the rubber connector where the tiny tube plugs in, there is what I assume to be a "jet" of some kind. I call it a jet because it seems perform a similar function to a jet in a carburator. This little jet thingy was constricted with oily dust. I used a little wire to poke out the gunk. When I reassembled everything my problem is gone! Could this repair have really fixed the problem?
