Check on your size of insert. If the length of your insert is too long, it will not lock in. The insert locks in place by the last couple of threads and if your insert is too long, it will not lock. Make sure your insert is the length of your oil plug. (you are using 14 X 1.5MM?) Another issue is the countersink. Make sure your coutersink is flush! I don't think you have done any damage....just make sure you are using the correct length insert and your countersink is flush. Loctite is optional and not needed.
