The 79 T4 engine has SQUARE port heads (Or should have them unless changed during a rebuild) I know because I have a 79 2L engine that I rebuild in my '73 and it has square port heads puls the matching heater boxes.. I also have a spare 2L engine from a 79 bus that has square port heads.

The engine is identical except that the breather port is cast in the block in the 80 to 83/4 T4 engine and is a box on top of the case in the 72- 79 T4 bus engines. The tin is of course different.

It should work ok with the swap and the breather attachment.

Robert
