depends on what you mean by "cold" and "hot" ... the vw info is just a chart, with a falling ohm-reading as the temperature INcreases.

these are the values of the chart, as best my tired old eyes can read them ...

Temp Max Ohms Min Ohms 0C 32F 6400+ 4700+ 10C 50F 4000+ 3200+ 20C 68F 2800+ 2100+ 30C 86F 2000+ 1500+ 40C 104F 1500- 1000- 50C 122F 900 700+ 60C 140F 650+ 520+ 70C 158F 500- 400+ 80C 176F 370- 300- 90C 194F 290- 220+ 100C 212F 230+ 180+ + means that value plus probably a little more. that is, my numbers could be off as much as +/- 50 below 50C/122F, and as much as +/- 20 above 50C/122F (the chart has two y-axes for different ohm values, depending on temperature) - means that value minus probably a little more. same as + above.

so if your outside temp was say 86F when you tested it, with the engine cold, then later if the engine coolant got up to around 158F or so, yeah, those values would/could/should/might be "normal".

trouble is, i've found that the sensors fit the charts, but when i changed them anyway, the problems with idling went away. so i kinda think maybe the chart is a bit wrong.
