Easily done. The BA6 was optional on '76-79's as well. It went under the floor between the heater boxes and the ventwork. It is actually considered a "heater booster" rather than a heater, so I suspect that if it were getting cold air in rather than heated heater-box air, it might not deliver enough heat.
