Subject: Price for '87 Westy for sale (San Diego)?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" ; format="flowed"

What price would you advise for the following San Diego-based '87 Westy?

It's a Canadian car, imported 30,000 mi ago, hence a new speedo head. Total mileage is 87,000 km + 30,000 mi, so about 85,000 mi total. It's registered in Washington but could be re-registered in Canada I suppose.

Everything has been done in recent history. The head gaskets were done at 14,000 on the new speedo (which presently reads 30,000). The transmission was rebuilt at about 20,000. Two tires are new, the other three still have lots to go (they're Uniroyal Laredos, 'C' load range).

CV joints were done, rear brakes. Yada yada yada. Rust can be found, though it is not glaringly evident, and is superficial, as attested to by various mechanics. Color is white. Exterior is pretty good, and interior is excellent.

All the camping gear works.

I bought it in '94. Got its start in Ontario, then Bellingham WA and lately San Diego.

This thing has been in St John's Nfld, Orlando, Inuvik, and Cabo San Lucas (Baja CA). Mostly road miles, never used as a commuter (at least since it had 88,000 km). It's a delightful vehicle, but it doesn't have air conditioning, and there's only one way to get out of San Diego in the summer, so I have a new Eurobago.

TIA,

Neil Wigley
