I still have the Audi V6 transaxle in my garage, and sometimes I try to find a way to use it in my V6 vanagon. But the problems are: 1. When using it backwards, you have to turn it upside down. That would mean LOTS of oil on the floor, because there is a hole with a little cover on top of the tranny case (kind of pressure valve). 1.5. When using the tranny upside down, I have to get a new adapter plate between engine and tranny (Tranny has an asymmetrical bolt pattern, unlike the 4-bolt-boxers...). 2. Flipping the diff: The front left side of the tranny case is not as wide as the right. That means, the diff. cannot be turned from right to left or vice versa... You have to get a new diff that turns backwards when installed in its original position...
