Subject: city water!?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

Hey there listees, I have just bought a '90 westie, which i am very happy with. The place i bought it from didn't really know what the thing really was, so when i was poking around, powering up, and poping up there were pretty pleased. Anyway, the vanagon family has now grown to TWO. I'm psyched. happy with both so far. Well, not having a westie before i am now tinckiering, finding out where everything is and how everything truely works.....so far so good.....except......the city water supply. The faucet works for the sub. pump in the tank real well, comes out with a good supply of force. when I connect ed the city outlet with my garden hose (it did fit) and turned on the foucet (in the c direction) I only got a small trickel out of the it. I then swithced to the tank/pump and it worked fine. Then i went back to try the city again.....this time NO water came out of the faucet. I see in the city outlet there is a valve, which you have to do before it gets cold so things don't freeze up and birst, in it (?) that prevents water from reentering the hose (?). So i remove the hose and pressed it with a screw driver and only a little water came out. My question......how or what do i check.....i don't know how the faucet works so i am asking all the knowlegeable veteran westie owners for advice. Is it the connection/outlet for city water or the faucet.......how do i check....... THANKS IN AVANCE Jon '88 GL '90 WESTIE (currently nameless)
