speaking of new years plans, i have to tell you about a fun place. For the past 7 or 8 years i have been going to Joshua Tree just after xmas to climb for a week or so. Therpy i guess you could say :-) A few yeras ago, i drove into the park on the first. The first route i did was up a huge monolith- a blick block (250' high, 300' across the top- all verticle sides).- Intersection Rock it is called. I top out, walk to the anchor and am shocked to see two dead kegs! Good beer too! Gorden Bierch and Anchor Steam! These kegs where in a huge moon-dish type divot thing up there, they were almost floating in 3" of spilled beverage! So the next 5 or so years i would hit JT on the 29th and stay for 5 or six days and have fun on the top of the rock at midnight! It was great. They would get the beer up there by pytting a rope over the top of the rock and pulling the kegs up with a car attached to the other end of the rope! On top there are lots of anchors and 'life lines' to keep the drunks for spilling in to the void! Then there is a designated rappeler that makes sure everybody gets down pain-free.

have a safe and fun weekend y'all peace Matthew Moscow ID 84 weekender
