Well, some people find a reason to party for the change of year 1999/2000, others find a reason to party for the fact that 2000 years have passed since the birth of Christ. When it really will happen seems to be up to each and everyone these days. The reason everybody celebrates it this year (in 2,5 months) is that that is the date being hyped up, because it is thought that all computers will crash then. I really don't care, it is nothing more special than any other New Year.
